So, you're here because you want to know what to expect in the math section of the ominous SAT? Fear no more! We're going to break it down for you so you feel ready to rock on your upcoming exam. ๐ฅ
Let's start by looking at the two different parts of the math section:
Most of the math section is just like the rest of the SAT with your well-known bubbled-in letters:
What tends to scare students is the grid-in student-produced answers, where instead of choosing from a selection of four answer choices, you have to enter your answers in the grids provided. You're essentially coming up with the answer yourself by solving the problem! ๐ช

There were more medium and hard questions than easy questions on the practice problems, so don't feel bad about missing a few ๐
One of the biggest keys to success is being prepared, and that means studying! Luckily, Fiveable has many resources that can help you prepare for the test.ย
I'm going to start by giving you some different strategies for how to study, because without a plan, it's very overwhelming.ย
One way to study, and my personal favorite, is to start with a practice test (or just the math section) to see where your starting at. This is a good way to test what you know and see what topics you need to focus on the most. Once you have finished your first practice test, you're going to grade it and write down every single topic that you struggled with. Then, you have a focused list of topics to study from. ๐ฏ
You can also use Fiveable's library to go through all of the possible topics on the test. I'm going to link theย main math portion here, where there are study guides that overview each of the four domains on the SAT math section. You can watch the videos and read the study guides that help you get a deeper understanding of each of the topics.
